Reflecting over the previous month is not only a way to see your progress but it is also an act of self-development.
If you’re not sure where to start, I’ve come up with a prompt that will help you out a little bit. You don’t need to answer them all, pick the questions that resonate with you the most.
QUICK TIP: ANSWER THE QUESTIONS EACH MONTH IN A JOURNAL, IT’LL BE A CUTE MEMORY TO COME BACK TO AT THE END OF THE YEAR
Is there going to be a post where I don’t talk about setting goals?– probably not.
Instead of letting your New Year’s resolutions gather dust, you could pick a resolution you want to achieve each month- genius right. If your New year goals/ resolutions, whatever you want to call it, are a more long term, write down steps you need to accomplish in order to achieve these goals and make those steps a goal to accomplish by the end of the month. I hope that makes sense!
If you have no clue where to start, I go deep into decluttering your devices in an older blog post!
Our generation spends so much time staring at our screens, day in and day out. So, in order to keep your mind at ease it is useful to keep these devices in order.
I hope I’m not the only person who forgets about half the clothes in the wardrobe, from time to time.
To make sure that you’re making the most out of all of your clothes in your wardrobe, and using them to their full potential, you could create a monthly “Capsule wardrobe”, where you can pick a few pieces that you want your fits to focus on.
Or, at the end of each month, you can bring clothes that you have not touched at the nack of your wardrobe, to the front.
Planning, planning, planning. You can never, and I mean NEVER go wrong. Your month, week, day, hours even, are more likely to go smoother if you have some sort of foundation there.
Adding any appointments, reminders, birthdays or your work schedule into your planner/ calendar at the beginning of the month will help you start the new month with some sort of idea of how it will pan out. Yes- there may be tasks and events that pop up last minute, but having a place where you have a “skeleton” of your weeks will help you if you need to shuffle things around.
If you are one of the VERY few people who doesn’t use Google Calendar, you’re missing out! If you need help setting up your Google Calendar, I have a step by step guide to get you started.
One of your goals may be to be more mindful and aware of how you are spending your money. If so, in order to stay on track it is essential to constantly review your budget.
Even if you don’t have the goal to budget, simply calculating your “money in” and “money out”, is a good habit to cultivate.
Everyone needs a little bit of excitement it their life – something to look forward to and something different. This really isn’t a typical monthly reset task, but I thought it would be cool to spice things up a bit.
Trying something new will help you expand your comfort zone and you never know, you could find something you never thought you would enjoy!
Feel free to document everything in a journal, it will be fun and interesting to look back on at the end of the year!
Pick an abandoned cupboard or draw and clear out at the end of each month! It is an efficient way to keep on top of your space, making sure you are not holding onto items you forgot about.
My rule is, if you’ve forgotten about it, you probably don’t need it!
And that’s it!
Just like that, your month has been successfully reset! Good luck, I would love to know how you all get on.
