We are halfway through the first month of 2023! Have you written your goals down on paper yet? Have you pictured how you want your year to look? This post is for you if the answer is no to any of these questions. Today, I will give you a guide on how to create a vision board that WORKS. Usually, I like to create my vision board before the new year starts, but, for the first time in years, I was struggling with picturing how I wanted my year to go.
So, whilst I am writing this blog post, I will also be creating my vision board with you!
A vision board is a visual representation of your goals and aspirations.
The first step is to be clear about exactly what you want to accomplish to make 2023 your best year yet! If you are not sure where to start, a great starting point is to split up your goals into subheadings such as love, career, personal, finance etc.
An example of some of my goals this year are:
???? I will graduate from university with a minimum of a 2:1
???? I will double my 2022 business revenue
A tip that I learnt last year is to write “I will” before every goal. I found that this helped a lot when visualising where I would be at the end of the year.
This list of goals will act as a foundation when finding images for your vision board. However, if you are not a visual person you can stop here instead of creating a visual representation of your goals.
After you have written your goals for the year, it is time to find words and quotes that represent some of these goals. Additionally, these words/ quotes will act as an inspiration throughout the year when you find yourself feeling unmotivated.
Write all of these words underneath your goals or you could create a spider diagram with all of the words you have brainstormed coming out of “2023”!
When it comes to creating your vision board, I prefer to collate all of my images using Pinterest. You can either create a “2023 board” or screenshot your images as you go along.
Usually, the best place to start when looking for images is your homepage however this is the best place to start if you use Pinterest regularly. If not, begin to type your goals into the search bar. The key here is to be very specific and niche. For instance, if you want to travel more in 2023, type in the exact countries you would like to visit. I like to take this a little further and try my best to find images of people who look similar to me, this helps me visualise achieving my goals.
When you find an image that you love add it to your 2023 board and repeat the following steps until you feel like all of your goals are covered.
After you have found the pictures that align with your goals, the next step is to find all of the quotes and words that will fill in the blank spaces. This is one of my favourite steps because I love looking for words/ quotes that inspire and speak to me. Here are some quotes you can add to your 2023 vision board.
Next, screenshot all of the images you saved in your 2023 board.
Now the fun can begin! You can upload all of the images that you screenshotted and begin to arrange all of your images until you are happy with how it looks. Whilst arranging you can categorise your images to represent the different subheadings we discussed earlier or you can randomise them. It’s up to you!
Finally, it is time to download your vision board and make it your wallpaper that way whenever you use your phone/ iPad/ laptop you will be constantly reminded of your goals.
this blog post is about how to create your dream vision board in 2023.
